(1Co 6:9) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, (10) Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” Context of this with previous chapter – these things to our knowledge is not to be practiced by membership of the church. Such should be rebuked, no matter the person. Why? The Lord’s reputation and our love for Him is to come before all others.

If Jesus is not Lord of all He is not Lord at all.

Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?” It is better to suffer wrong or loss than to reveal to the lost the lack of love among God’s people. Instead, we are quick to share gossip with others.

(1Co 6:4) “If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. (5) I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?” I have never heard of this being practiced, though it should. It hasn’t because men love self more than the reputation of Christ in their community. Sad.

(1Co 6:3) “Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?” “If” fallen angels are the same as demons, then the saved will judge those who once sought to influence them to sin, troubling us as we sought to please our Savior.

After the angel leaves the Virgin Mary, she immediately goes to the other recipient of God’s favor, Elizabeth. Their meeting once again reveals the Holy Spirit’s hand at work. Later, after Mary leaves, we see these things revealed to family and friends of that elderly couple.

(1Co 6:2) “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?” Since we know it is Jesus Who is judge on the Great White Throne (Rom 2), then this has to be referring to during the Thousand Year Reign of Christ. We of the church age will come back to reign with Christ.

(1Co 6:1) “Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?” Civil matters within the church should be handled and judged within it. The reputation of Christ Jesus is to be first and foremost in our minds and hearts.

(1Co 5:12) “For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? (13) But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.” The assembly of believers’ highest purpose of meeting together, is to meet with God. It is to express our love for our Savior and to learn as His Spirit teaches us as a body. We who are to eschew (absolutely shun 1 Pet 3:11) evil. Let nothing hinder the Lord meeting with you.
