DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 1:13) “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance….”  When I ponder the thought of the Holy Spirit being the earnest, my mind is taken to this term as used in real estate. The earnest money is put up as good faith that one will raise the rest of the money. Should you fail, you lose your earnest money. Can God (the Father) lose God (the Holy Spirit)? Impossible! That’s the point. So, rest secure in the promise of God. Heaven awaits the saved!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 1:13)” In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”  Here we have a statement of fact: saved, then you are sealed! The Holy Spirit is God. A seal preserves what is therein! In other words, the Spirit of God, linked with “of promise”, plainly implies He is the seal of God’s determination to keep His promise of saving your soul, Christian!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 1:13) “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:….” The core of the gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Yet, the gospel, good news includes the fact it was for your sin He died in your place. And, that He rose commanding the saved to say to the lost, “He not only wants to forgive the sinner but also bestow the eternal life He possesses through His resurrection! Give the gospel friend. A salvation from hell awaits the sinner who rightly comes to Christ!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 1:13) “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:…”  Remember, dear one, “faith” is “trusting what God says is true and acting upon it”. One without the other is not what the Bible means by faith. So, you have not really come by faith, you have not trusted, if you have not responded by coming to Him with humble heart, turning from your sin, and asking forgiveness and the gift of everlasting life!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 1:13) “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:…” Today I wish to draw your attention to the phrase, “..the Word of truth..”  There is no other writing of any kind in which we can with confidence say, “This is truth  in every way.” God is the God of truth. He never lies nor does He ever make a mistake!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 1:11) “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: (12) “That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.”  Brother, sister in Christ, when other brethren see us in the eternal presence of God, all will give glory to He Who chose to save us though we did not merit it! Forever we will stand as memorials of the cross and resurrection of Christ!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 1:11) “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance,….”   In this old world inheritances are things which will someday perish. In the next life, there awaits those born into God’s family an inheritance (1Pe 1:4) “…..incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,” Did you know that inheritance actually belonged exclusively to the Lord Jesus, Who is risen from the dead to share it with us? Heb 9:15  And for this cause He (Jesus)  is the mediator of the new testament (a will, as in last will and testament), that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament (the old will), they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (16) For where a testament (will)  is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator (the will maker). (17) For a testament (will)  is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator (will-maker) liveth.” Praise God for our risen Lord Jesus!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 1:10) “That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:”  A dispensation is an ordering of a certain period of time for different ways of fulfilling God’s plan. For example, your Bible is divided into Old Testament and New Testament. The Old Testament believer are saved by faith in blood, the blood of an animal sufficing the judgment of God towards man until Jesus, the true sacrifice, came – thus the New Testament. There’s a dispensation when this world will end to the creation of a new world. We will then all (Old and New Testament saints) will gathered unto God!
