(1Co 1:7) “So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: (8) Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  This church (the Born Again) had problems that would rob them of their power and testimony. Yet, this did not rob them of the saving grace that keeps their soul to the end.

(1Co 1:6) “Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: (7)  So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:” The Corinthian Church was full of problems. Lack of spirituality does not come from a lack of power or enduement from above, but from not walking in the spirit.

1Co 1:5  “That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; (6)  Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:” The evidence of truly being born again is  in this love for the Word (knowledge) and the giving forth of it (utterance).

1 Co 1:5  That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;  This is something enjoyed by each church that subjects themselves to the Lord’s guidance. He desires them have the blessings that come with knowledge of His Word.

1Co 1:4  I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;  The truly saved have come to God begging forgiveness, for they know their sin was responsible for Jesus’ crucifixion. “Grace”, unmerited favor, is given in salvation.

(Rom 15:13) “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” Notice that joy, peace, hope comes through the Holy Spirit living within the believer. During the trying circumstances of life, if we do not look to Him, then we will not have joy – peace – hope. He does not force Himself in any way upon us.

(Rom 15:13) “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” Hope: an expectant looking for a sure coming event. May we allow the Holy Spirit to direct our eyes towards heaven, looking for the glorious appearing of our Lord.

(Rom 15:12) “And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.”   The more I study the Word of God the more I trust Him. For God to say anything to anyone is to promise, for He cannot lie nor does He repent (Num 23:19).  He will keep my soul from hell, for He has said He would.

(Rom 15:12) “And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.”  Praise God for honest hearts that seek not just His blessings, but love Him. Loving Him means one will obey His Word, not simply pleasing self by saying, “This I believe; this portion I do not believe.”

(Rom 15:11) “And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.”  Praise is to be something we constantly do, aiding in the filling of the Spirit, needed to have both victory and fellowship with Him: Eph 5:18b :…be filled with the Spirit; (19) Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”
