DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 3:1) “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.” What is the basis for this statement? As the chapter proceeds we will find the following: the flesh ruled, just as if they had never been made alive spiritually. To put self first is to live as an unsaved person.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:16) “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”  Doesn’t it stand to reason that the Spirit of God, Who stands ready to teach us these things, would prompt a saved person to open the Bible? Have you experienced this today? Yesterday? The day before…..? Have you received such a prompting? Why not?

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:14) “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”  We, possessing the Spirit of God, our spirit now alive, have the prompting to live in a way that pleases Him. That prompting drives us to the Word of God to learn of those things.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:14) “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”  Note:  “the natural man”, as in the unsaved man. One is born naturally unsaved, born with a sinful nature to live this life in enmity against God, whose end is to spend an eternity in hell. Sad that today people have fooled themselves into believing God just wants them to believe so He can give them what they want and help them when in need! No, the message has always been “repent and be saved”.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:14) “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”  “Natural man” = unsaved man. Natural, of this world; absent of spirit life (their spirit is dead). They cannot discern, comprehend the spiritual truths of God’s Word. It is not possible, for as the Lord Jesus said of His Words, (Jn 6:63b) “… the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:13) “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” Consider: this can only be referring to the Spirit teaching us (Jesus’ Words) through comparing one portion of the Word of God to another. In other words, using “all” the Bible. This is the main failure today in churches from the pastor to the pew. The whole Bible is not studied by each saved person, so the Spirit is hindered in His work.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:12) “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit [cap “S” mine] which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”   Amazing to me the number of people who profess to be saved yet do not daily open God’s Word, taking advantage of this blessed gift of instruction and enlightenment.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:12) “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit (I capitalized “spirit”) which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”  Be careful. Many a person is teaching so-called things “given” by God that are not really given to us. You must verify if those “things” are practiced by the average “God’s Child” in the Epistles.
