DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 2:14) “Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.”  We have to guard against pride, for we naturally seek to know what others do not, feeding it. The very seeking of those things make us stumble, for we have a tendency to embrace what is unclear to us (words to no profit), throwing out what is plainly said and written. Hold to your foundation. Be careful how you build upon it!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 2:12) “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: (13)  If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”  God “is”, rather man embrace Him or not. He has revealed Himself in the Person of Jesus; shown to the world His hatred of sin by the very cross that killed the physical body of Jesus. He revealed His love by bearing our sins and His power through the resurrection of Jesus.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 2:12)  “If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him:….”  A time will come when our Lord shall reign upon this earth; that time is not now. Now is the time we seek to walk as He walked upon this earth, meek while all the while standing for truth; suffering if need be, as He would respond and suffered while He was here among us. He is worth it! Let us live this life with our eyes upon the prize He has held before us.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 2:11)  “It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:”  The saved have, in the mind of God, been put “in” Christ. We died on the cross with Him, was buried with Him, and rose again with Him. Our life is “in” Him. This is a great and precious Bible Truth. I say to you, if you have not been changed when you asked God to save you, you have yet to be put “in” Christ. Look up Second Corinthians Five Seventeen.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 2:10) “Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.”  Why endure? He has told us that working for God is not in vain, the Word is not bound. I add these motivations: 1. His devotion to He Who forgave his past and saved his soul; 2. Paul was given a purpose in life to be fulfilled; and 3. The Holy Spirit gave him the ability to “love thy neighbor as thyself”. We each have those same motivations in common with Paul!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 2:9) “Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.”  The world as a whole has rejected God’s Word, moving it into greater and greater darkness. As a result, their distorted perception sees evil as good and good as evil. They will seek more and more to limit the speaking of Bible Truth. Do not let it frighten you. Give forth the Word more and more, for…….”…the Word of God is not (and cannot be) bound.”

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 2:8) “Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:”  This says three things to Timothy and to you and me. One: Jesus’ resurrections says, “You have the power within you (the Holy Spirit) to live for Jesus through whatever comes.” Two: praise God this life is short and our own resurrection is  near. And three: we will have to give account of this life to the One Who purchased our salvation face to face.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 2:7) “Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.”  “Consider”: think upon”; meditate; give God’s Word careful thought. What will be the result? If you are seeking His face, “…the Lord give thee understanding….”, He will bless you. “In all things”, of that which you are reading while seeking to please Him! Blessed promises to those who love Him enough to sit before Him with an open Bible!
