DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Jn 5:20) “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true,….” Oh, to KNOW God – Him that is true – true in life (He is the living God) and true in Person (He does and says always that which is true)! One can only know Him through Jesus “….even in His Son Jesus Christ”! THAT is truth!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Joh 20:6) “Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, (7) And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. (8) Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.” Yet, we are told in Luke, (24:11)  “And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.”  So, what was it Peter and John believed? That He was no longer in the tomb! There’s a difference also between believing, the embracing of a fact –  He rose again from the dead – and being willing to turn from your sin and embrace the Savior as your only means of salvation! One results in being Born Again and the other does not! I had the one for seven years and was lost. Then I embraced the other – praise God!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

Jude tells us to be “built up” in our “most holy faith”. The fourth way listed is, “… looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”Out strength is NOT ourselves, but the Lord. Look to Him. By the way, “mercy” is not needed by those without sin; but by sinners. My righteousness is not my own; but that of my merciful Savior! He applied it to me on the day of Salvation Experience.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

Church attendance: can you be spiritual without it? Not if you have the power to get there! Attendance is not voluntary, but demanded: (Heb 10:24) “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: (25)  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”  No person is spiritual who is disobedient to God.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

Today we come back to Jude, verses 20-21 to see the ways we are to be “built up” in the Faith. The third way listed is, (Jud 1:21) “Keep yourselves in the love of God,”. How do we do this? Let the Lord Jesus answer: (Joh_14:21) “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

DAILY DROP OF WATER

Jude verses 20-21 teach us how to be built up “…on our most holy faith”. The second way listed is, “ praying in the Holy Ghost,…” Only a saved person can do this. The Holy Spirit dwells within and seals the Born Again Child of God (Eph 1:13). We pray, and the Holy Spirit carries that message to the Father, through the Son: Rom 8:26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered”  Walk and talk with the Lord. Look how near He is to you all the time!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

How is a person to “build themselves up” in the faith? According to Jude v 20, firstly, it is to “stay put” on your foundation: (Jud 1:20) “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith…” I, like most every believer, used to at times doubt how I could be saved and yet fall into sin. One day I came to the Lord and, after asking forgiveness once again, said, “Lord, you asked me to repent. I did. You asked me to believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again alive from the dead. I did. You said if I would do those things, you would save me. I must believe you always keep your Word. If I should die and go to hell, if you mean you didn’t do it. Since I know you cannot lie nor fail, I will never doubt you again.” And I haven’t. Stay put on “your most holy faith”.
