(1Pe 1:1) “Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,” The Holy Spirit is referring to Christian Jews as “strangers”. The truth is, every saved person has been changed inside, making them “strangers” to this world. (1Pe 2:10) “Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (11) Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;” ;” I would rather not be a stranger to the Lord, making me a stranger to this world, than have all the riches and fellowship this world has to offer!
Amen; having already accepted the gift of Saving Faith proffered by the Holy Spirit, we must decide to separate ourselves from the world and its ways – and abide totally in Christ and His ways. Often this decision is not immediate; nonetheless, it is this separation to which we have been called – and through which we are made more and more like Him in whom we abide.
