(Rom 1:1) “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (2) (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)” How I wish that men and women looked upon the Word of God as Holy! If we saw the Scriptures as Holy, would we toss our Bibles around? Would men and women deal loosely in translating? Would preachers quit seeking a verse in various versions to support what they wish to teach? Both in the Old Testament and in the New it warns us regarding adding or subtracting from God’s Words. The Word of God IS Holy!
Amen; from the moment we trust that Jesus Christ died for us and our sins, we are “separated unto the Gospel of God.” Our separation is affected by the Agency of God’s Holy Spirit; and, though we do not receive the Pauline apostolic call, we are nonetheless similarly commissioned: to advance the Gospel for which we are separated. Our commissioning carries an awesome title and responsibility: Royal Priest of the Most High God. Rejoicing in Christ, Don
