DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:7) “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory”  God knew man would bring the curse of sin upon himself before He even created the earth. In mercy He devised the plan of saving individuals through His Son’s death in our place. Our soul’s salvation was the center-stone of creation’s plan.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:7) “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:”  The mystery here is that which is revealed by the Spirit of God to the spirit of each saved person made alive at the rebirth (Jn 3). To the lost the things of God remain a mystery (v.14 “spiritually discerned”)

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:6) “Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:”  “Them that are perfect” speaks of our standing “in Christ Jesus”. Philippians speaks of both our standing and reality in flesh: standing (Php_3:15  Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.); reality (Php_3:12  Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.).

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:4) “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: (5) That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” The power of the gospel is to transform lives. When the Lord saves us, our spirits are made alive and a divine nature is imparted. That nature makes our desires different from the lost.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 2:1) “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.”  The wisdom of God is not men’s musings, but the Words of Scripture. The ability to reach the heart of another is not our thoughts and insights, but the Word of God itself, the same Word the Lord quoted when facing Satan.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 1:30) “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (31) That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” It reveals how fleshly we really are when we give men the glory for what God has done. Truth is, we do not focus on the Lord as we should nor give Him the praise we should.
