PHILIPPIANS COMMENTARY
DAILY DROP OF WATER
THE BOOK OF PHILIPPIANS
CHAPTER ONE
(Php 1:1) “Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:” A servant is one who serves at the beck and call of their Lord, their Master. Few have a true servant’s heart. We are willing and glad to be called a Child of God, one of the Redeemed, Members of Such and Such Church, etc.. But are we servants? This is certainly something I must consider before my Lord. “Do I serve Your at Your beck and call.”

(1Co 11:23) “For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: (24) And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.” Jesus said He was the Manna from heaven. This bread represents He Who was sent from heaven to meet the hunger for God within us.
THIRSTING SOULS BIBLE STUDY: 1 Peter Study #4 “The Center of All our Blessings – Jesus”

DAILY DROP OF WATER
(1Co 11:27) “Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.” This is not speaking of the lost, though it would certainly apply. It is speaking to the saved, approaching it with known sin in your life, or not in true reverence of the sacrifice of Christ Jesus.
DAILY DROP OF WATER
(1Co 11:26) “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.” The false teaching of a continual sacrifice having to be maintained takes away from that which your salvation hinges on – Jesus rising from the dead: (1Co 15:14) “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.” and Verse 17, “And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.”
DAILY DROP OF WATER
(1Co 11:26) “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.” You “show”, “picture”, the Lord’s death. Nowhere in Scripture does it even hint that they looked at it as the actual body and blood of the Lord. It is not a continual sacrifice of His body: (Heb_9:28) “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”; (Heb_10:10) “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
DAILY DROP OF WATER
(1Co 11:25) “After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.” The blood of Jesus brought in a new testament, “will”. His death passed the decrees of the will on to those of faith. The decree, “Everlasting Life”.
THIRSTING SOULS BIBLE STUDY: 1 Peter Study #3 “Blessings Multiplied”
The text speaks of the multiplication of Grace. How is this so? Of what manner is it speaking? Also, what about the need of peace? Do you have it? Do you have it in the way the Scriptures speak of it? All of these are answered in this study.
