DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 15:43) “It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:”  Death is our dishonor. Physical death is the indication that we have sinned. The outward trend towards corruption – old age, is the sign that each one of us is under the curse for our sins. It is to our dishonor, for we have each sinned against our good and holy God.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 15:41) “There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. (42)  So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:”  Notice the emphasis moved to the glory of these objects in the sky. It is then that the resurrection body is spoken of. Point: there is a glory to the resurrection body likened to the very objects of the sky! Praise His Name!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 15:39) “All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. (40) There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.” What is to be concluded? Answer: the resurrection body is unique in itself, different from that which we had before. We know it is not corrupt in desire nor in composition. It is eternal.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 15:38) “But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.”  “As it hath pleased Him”. Almighty God is Sovereign. Creation was for both His purpose and pleasure. It is His right to do as He will with each of us. The Bible says, (2 Peter 3:9b) “… not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”  Repentance is not “I am sorry”, but includes “I don’t want to do it anymore”. Such is not within our power but He can and will help the sincere soul after He bestows upon them the gift of everlasting life. Was that your desire when  you asked Him to save you?

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 15:37) “And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: (38)  But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.”  Just think: God designed each and every life to come forth from a seed of some various types, for the “purpose” of teaching “whosoever will hear” of the resurrection! Praise His Holy Name!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 15:36) “Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:”  We so often overlook the fact that God determined how all things would work. He is the Creator of all things. Instead of just giving man a finished product, like manna in the wilderness, He brought forth all life from seed. This passage reveals that death brings forth life, picturing the resurrection!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 15:35) “But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?”  Unbelief is bound by its own lack of abilities. Man is finite. It is as the Lord Jesus said, (Matt 5:26b) “… thou canst not make one hair white or black.”  Such is ignorant of the truth shared by the angel Gabriel: (Luk_1:37) “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 15:34) “Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.”  This is referring to “the righteousness of faith” (Rom 4:13); that is, the righteousness bestowed upon the soul at salvation, based upon their faith in the death, burial, “and” resurrection. This needs, now…….to be set forth before the unsaved.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 15:33) “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”  A saying of the day being applied for understanding. If you take in the false, it will affect the true. Guard  your hearts, brethren. Don’t listen to false doctrine. Don’t read it; don’t study it: (1Co_10:12)  “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 15:30) “And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? (31)  I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. (32)  If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.”    Paul  believed and stood upon the truth of the death, burial, and resurrection so much, that saved His soul, that he was willing to suffer anything for that truth’s sake. What about you? What about me? Are we willing to do the same?
