DAILY DROP OF WATER

(1Co 6:8) “Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. (9) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, (10)  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (11) And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” There is no excuse for a truly saved person to behave like an unsaved. If Jesus is not Lord of all He is not Lord at all.

1Co 6:6) “But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. (7) Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?” It is better to suffer wrong or loss than to reveal to the lost the lack of love among God’s people. Instead, we are quick to share gossip with others.

(1Co 6:6) “But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. (7) Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?” It is a shame when God’s people will not let the Holy Spirit control them to love one another. Such put self  before the reputation of Christ. At the heart of all sin is love for self.

(1Co 6:4) “If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. (5)  I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?”  I have never heard of this being practiced, though it should. It hasn’t because men love self more than the reputation of Christ in their community. Sad.

(1Co 6:2)  “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?”  Since we know it is Jesus Who is judge on the Great White Throne (Rom 2), then this has to be referring to during the Thousand Year Reign of Christ. We of the church age will come back to reign with Christ.

(1Co 5:12) “For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? (13) But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.”  The assembly of believers’ highest purpose of meeting together, is to meet with God. It is to express our love for our Savior and to learn as His Spirit teaches us as a body. We who are to eschew (absolutely shun 1 Pet 3:11) evil. Let nothing hinder the Lord meeting with you.

(1Co 5:11) “But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.” The reputation of the church which directly represents our Lord, and the desire to fellowship with Him, is to be more important to us than anything else. Instead, we have elevated love for the individual over our love for God.

(1Co 5:11) “But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.” The sin nature of man reasons to conclusions not of God. We think: “Overlook the sin and love the sinner.” No, rebuke the sin, love the sinner, but love the Lord most of all. God’s way is the only right way of dealing with anything.
