(Heb 2:15) “And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”   The lost “should” fear death, for it holds nothing but pain and misery for them. It is the duty of the saved to make them face death, so that they might be moved to repent and be saved.

(Heb 2:15) “And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”  People do not enjoy conversing about death. That is because everyone knows instinctively that there is a judgment after physical death (Rom 1:18-20). The “bondage” here is that of a condemning conscience.

(Heb 2:14) “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”  Satan is said to be destroyed, for his reign over death will have an end. Secondly, this earth will be destroyed, ending death, and the devil will enter an eternity of suffering in the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:10; 21:1).

 (Heb 2:14) “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”  Satan is said to be destroyed, for his reign over death will have an end. First, it ends daily as some repentance soul is placed in the Person of Christ, freeing them from death’s eternal grip.

(Heb 2:14) “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”  Fourthly, death could not keep the Lord Jesus because He had never sinned, so its punishment did not apply to Him. So, He rose victorious in such a way that death can never touch His person again!

(Heb 2:14) “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”   Thirdly, Jesus would have never been touched with the power of death because He had never sinned (the wages of sin is death). He had to allow Himself to die, that is, be murdered.

(Heb 2:14) “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”  For that to take place, Jesus secondly had to live His entire life, moment by moment, sinless: (2Co_5:21)  “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” 

(Heb 2:14) “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”  For that to take place, Jesus first had to be born without the sin nature. Since that nature is passed through the male, Mary was impregnated through the Holy Spirit (Lk 1:35).

 (Heb 2:14) “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;” The wording, “took part of he same” (flesh) presupposes an existence before coming into this world as the baby Jesus: (Joh_6:38) “For I came down from heaven, not to do Mine Own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.”

(Heb 2:14) “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”  They were not “children of God” before He took upon Him flesh. They are children because He took upon Him flesh.
