DAILY DROP OF WATER

There’s a Scripture in Romans that says that Jesus is “just and the justifier of him that believeth in Jesus (3:26)”. He is “just” – sinless, breaking no laws”, for our sins have been paid for – the death penalty. So, it is not wrong for Him to forgive us, passing that payment onto us. And He is the Justifier, for He paid for our sins Himself, dying in our place, making us “just’ – “just as if we had never broken the law – sinless”. Jesus satisfied the decree of Divine justice so that we might enter that place of no sin – the presence of God!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Act 1:1) “The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,”  Doing always comes before teaching. It is the life we live that supports the things we seek to teach others. Our live can either cause others to accept our spiritual instruction or reject it. How is you “doing”?

DAILY DROP OF WATER

I’m sure you recall after the resurrection of the Lord, His asking Peter three times if he loved Him. The Greek language has several words for love – we, one. The first, Jesus asked, “Do you love me sacrificially?” Peter – “I love you as a friend.” Jesus asked again, “Do you love me sacrificially?” Peter – “I love you as a friend.” Jesus – “Do you love me as a friend?” Even this level of love questioned by the Lord troubled Peter, who answered, “You know I love at least that much!” Yet, still the Lord told Him, even with only that much love, do for Me as I have asked you these two times before, “Feed My sheep”. No one loves the Lord as they SHOULD, but we can still serve Him best we can with the love we do possess and all the while, seek to love Him more!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

My heart is always moved when I read these Words, (1Jn 1:1) “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;” I have not heard the actual voice of the Lord Jesus, yet I have through the blessed Holy Spirit. I have not seen Him with these physical eyes, yet have through the eyes of faith. I have yet to look upon Him, but know that day will be here sooner than I think. And I have not laid these hands upon Him, but have grasped Him with the hands of hope and desire. Praise God!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

Once you have covered your soul with the blood of Christ, you are adopted, thus making you His child! You have nothing to fear except correction from time to time.  It makes me think of when the angel came to the tomb of our risen Lord,  (Mat_28:3) “His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:”.  Two groups of people were present: disciples and unbelievers. To the disciples the angel pointedly said, (Mat 28:5) “And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.  (6)  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” There is nothing to fear for the true seeker of the Lord Jesus! I am God’s and nothing can separate me from Him! Seek Him today!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

I know it is only speculation and imagination on my part, but I can just see the Lord walking out of that tomb and shouting, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” (1Co_15:55) It was the fulfillment of  (Isa 25:7) “And He will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. (This refers to man’s spiritual darkness. How?) (8)  He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.”  Glory to God, the Lord Jesus is risen!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

I cannot help but wonder what those responsible for our Lord’s death contemplated during this time. They had witnessed a true darkness over the face of the earth THREE HOURS while Jesus hung on that cross (Lk 23:44). They had felt the earth violently shake the moment He gave up His spirit (Matt 21:50-51). Were they fearful? They should have been! I honestly would not like to be them when they face our Lord AND THEY WILL! If you understand Scripture, you will realize that each of us are responsible for His death, for He was dying for our sins. If you do not repent and embrace Him as Savior, you will have to face Him also and explain “why”!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Lk 23:46) “And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. (47)  Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. (48)  And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned. (49)  And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.” None of us can really comprehend the days following this tragedy!  The best, most loving, most giving Person Who ever walked this earth as gone – taken in the most awful of ways! What emptiness! What loss! I only know this: after having Him in my life for 45 years, I wouldn’t what to live another minute without Him!
