DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 3:5)  “Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;” The Old Testament prophets penned these things (Psalm 22; Isaiah 53 to name a few) not knowing what they meant. Now the Holy Spirit has revealed these things in the writing of the New Testament and to our individual souls as we faithfully read and study God’s Word!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 3:3) “How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,  (4) Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)”   The mystery of Christ is no longer a mystery, in the fact that it has been revealed, “…by revelation He made it known to me…..”  The mystery: God would come to this earth as a man, bear mankind’s sin on a cross, be buried and rise victorious over sin and death, coming back to life the third day. And all who repent and ask for forgiveness for this will receive the Gift of Everlasting Life! The mystery is revealed!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

Eph 2:21) “In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:”  The word “holy” should never be overlooked by us. Yes, you and I can live holy lives, certainly holier than we are living them right now. Holiness is action of heart and mind driving us to physically depart from the things God says “don’t”. The problem today is fewer and fewer confessing believers are reading God’s Word to know what He desires! Are you?

(Eph 2:20) “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;” In such construction of a building, the corner stone needs to be as perfect as possible, else the building would be flawed in some way. Our Corner Stone, the perfect Lord Jesus, without blemish, without sin, is perfect and thus so is the building! Just the Old Testament says Israel will some day say, “The Lord our righteousness”, so the New Testament says He is the righteousness of the saved, thus a perfect building. That’s positional, unchanging. Practically, you and I need to more and more ask the Spriit of God to mold us, to help us submit to Him, so that He can use us and change us for the glory of our Corner Stone.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 2:20) “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;”  Notice that our faith is built upon what the Spirit has revealed through both the Old Testament and New Testament prophets (the apostles prophesied until the New Testament writings were completed). The Bible says, “Faith cometh by hearing and that by the Word of God.” My faith is based upon believing all that God has said. He said His Son Jesus paid for my sins on Calvary’s cross. He said His Son overcame death and arose again! He said if I desired in my heart to turn from my sins (repentance) and ask for forgiveness He would give me the gift of everlasting life. I did and He did! Praise God!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 2:19)  “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;”  That term, “household of God” is made clear in the Book of Hebrews where Jesus is compared to Moses (and found to be greater than!), (Heb 3:3) “For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.” and then it adds, (Heb 3:6) “But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.” Moses superintended the “House” of God called “Israel”. The Lord Jesus, through the sacrifice of His Own body, built a House of His Own called “The Church”.  Praise God, I will be a part of the great “Jesus Christ Family Reunion” that is soon to come!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 2:19)  “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;”   “Now” as opposed to what we used to be – on the outside not even “looking in”, for out old nature had no desire for the things of God! Most do not realize they did not come to God out of a desire of their own, but the Lord drew them: (Rom 3:10) “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (11) There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.”  You see, the love and mercy of God extends to His going after those He loves, the lost of this world!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 2:19) “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;”  A “saint” is anyone who is saved! We together have been made citizens of heaven. Since the Lord already sees us “sitting in the heavenlies”, we are declared “citizens” of that wonderful place, the central home of God! Glory! I am looking forward to seeing it with my own eyes!
