DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 3:11) “Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. (12)  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”  If one will not put the Lord first enough in their life to read daily His Word, be faithful to all the church services, tithe, and tell others, would they be willing to suffer persecution for Him?

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 3:10) “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,…”We are to consider the example of life of this verse in contrast to that of those of the last days. Those of the last days: the pleasure of self before God’s commands. Those of our example of Paul: God’s commands come first, self last, and thus “patience” in all things. “Patience” through the Spirit gives us a faith that trust God’s goodness and purpose to be the end of the negative things which enter the life of the saved one.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

DAILY DROP OF WATER (2Ti 3:10) “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity,….” “Charity”: often translated love. Scripture interpretation would be Godly love, proceeding from the Spirit within us outward to others. This, brother/sisters, is what the lost need to see in us: a sacrificing equitable love towards everyone alike. May it be so, Lord Jesus. For more come to www.thirstingsouls.com

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 3:10) “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering,…”  “Longsuffering”: patient endurance of hardship, injuries, or offense; forbearance.  In the next verse the Holy Spirit leads Paul to give us insight into the application of this word, for Paul suffered persecution for the gospel. Think: we withhold our tongues from speaking to others about the Lord lest they get angry with us. Their soul and devotion to God was worth it to Paul.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 3:10) “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith,…..”  Faith is one of the most misunderstood words in all of Scripture. Most think it is the acknowledging of something as true. That is certainly part of it. Bible faith is action on our part to the truth we embrace. That is why Paul could say, “You have known my faith”. Bible faith moves us to take our part in the work of God. A faith that does not glorify God is not faith at all.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 3:10) “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose,….”   “Purpose”: taken from the setting of the shewbread forth in the presence of God’s people. In other words, one has a purpose of life lived in such a manner for all to know of it. You, as Paul, must determine in your heart to live in such a way as to say to the world, “I love and devote myself to He Who saved my soul.”

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 3:10) “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life,….”  Actions speak louder than words, right? Watching your life, would your actions say, “My God comes first”, or, “I come first but God has a very prominent place in my life.” (Mat_10:37) “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (38)  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”  Does your life say, “worthy”?

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 3:10) “But thou hast fully known my doctrine,….”   Doctrine are the truths of Scripture. That which is wrong doctrine is therefore false. Yes, doctrine is the one thing that should divide people. That does not mean we are to be unkind. We are to be loving but firm when it comes to our stand on God’s Word. Doctrine should separate us, for holding to doctrine is holding onto the Lord.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 3:10) “But thou hast fully known my doctrine,….”  No true born again Child of God has an excuse for ignorance of the Bible. We have the completed Word of God plus the Holy Spirit inside us, waiting for an opportunity to teach us. If a person says, “I really should spend time reading my Bible”, but never seem to get around to it; it makes you wonder if they are what they profess to be. Spiritual life craves spiritual food. True? Of course, true.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(2Ti 3:8)” Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. (9)  But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.”   Interesting word, “folly”. It means stupidity, but by implication “rage”. So, it is self exaltation based upon a reaction to a negative in the mind. Remember: these men thought they were being wronged by Moses and were just as accepted in the sight of God as him. Wrong: he was appointed of God. Big difference (2 Cor 10:18). Be careful, brother, not to exalt yourself wrongly in your own mind!
