DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 6:7) “With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:”  The context here is a servant working for a master, but as you can see, the Lord wants us to always at work as well as in all things, working, living, as unto Him. We need to seek to have a walking/talking relationship with our Lord. He is with the saved always, living inside their very bodies! Shouldn’t we be talking, praising, loving Him all through our day?

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 6:5) “Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; (6)  Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;”  Believers should always seek to apply the teachings of the Bible to themselves. I have always applied these verses to the employer/employee relationship. There are many who busily work when the boss is around but goof off when he/she is not. Work as to the Lord Who is always watching. Please Him!

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 6:5)  “Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;”  I come back to yesterday’s question: “Under such a tyrannical government as the Roman, why didn’t Almighty God call for revolt and civil action.”  This world is not my home nor my resting place. When I was born again, I was adopted into God’s family and separated as a person unto a Heavenly Citizenship. This world has been temporality given to Satan to rule. My job here is rob him of souls held in bondage. I am passing through this world and taking as many as I can with me to the next. That’s the goal. That’s the job. The rest the Lord Jesus will take care when He returns to this earth.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 6:5)  “Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;”  Under such a tyrannical government as the Roman, why didn’t Almighty God call for revolt and civil action?  ANSWER: Christ’s kingdom at this time is a spiritual kingdom which means it changes people and as a result governments from within, not without. I am afraid today’s world, from not searching the pages of God’s Bible do not know this.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 6:1) “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.  (2)  Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) (3)  That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”   This promise is more than long life upon the earth. The promise begins with, “That it may be well with thee.” He who obeys God is blessed with a good life, a life worth living. Christ Jesus gives us a purpose of life. We are to seek His glorification. Moreover, we are to seek to keep as many from ending up in hell as possible. These are noble goals indeed.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 6:1) “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.  (2)  Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)”   Isn’t it interesting that the first commandment with a promise would be made to children? God always keeps His promises! Parents should seek to be careful about their promises. Don’t promise anything you do not intend to keep and always do what you say you will do. If not, apologize profusely and seek to make it up. Our children will have an easier time trusting God if they can trust us.

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 6:1) “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.”  Sadly, we live in a day when parents fail to train their children to obey. Discipline is a part of that training. If they are taught to obey parents, it is easier for them to obey God. But if the parents fail to discipline, or to do so consistently, or appease instead, or bribe into obedience, they will expect those things from God. Friend, the Lord will do none of those things with you or for you. Hebrews tells us He disciplines every child of His. If He does not do so with you, then you are not His! (Hebrews Chapter 12)

DAILY DROP OF WATER

(Eph 5:33)  “Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”  When a young Christian and newlywed, when angered with me, my wife would say, “The Bible doesn’t tell me to love you but to respect you.” She had me going for awhile until I ran across the Scripture where the older women are to teach the younger,  (Tit_2:4) “That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,”  What a relief! Love is the command of God. It begins at home and then outward to all!
