1Ti 1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; (9) Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, (10) For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; (11) According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.” The purpose of the law is to reveal that we need a Savior – Jesus. Don’t trust baptisms, church membership, nor good intentions. We each need to repent and ask the Lord to save our souls, turning away from our desires unto His desires. Then will the Lord save your soul

THIRSTING SOULS BIBLE SERMONS: “The Seeking God” Duet Chapter 32
The Bible proves that God seeks sinful man out with a desire to save him and use him for His Own glory. Are you being used of God?

(1Ti 1:7) “Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.” Law here speaks of actions to merit salvation, or the salvation already received from God. The Bible says we are saved through “grace”: salvation bestowed that we do not deserve. Even afterwards, we do not work (obey God’s Word) to deserve our salvation, but because we are thankful for having received it. Obedience to God’s Word is to express thankfulness and love for the Savior!
THIRSTING SOULS BIBLE TEACHING: Old Testament Survey Lesson #8
Today we look at how it is anyone gets saved. We ask the question, does the time come when the Spirit of God stops seeking a soul. How can we bare our lost ones in the Lake of Fire while we enjoy heaven?

(1Ti 1:5) “Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: (6 ) From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;” Please consider that there are many things in this life that are worthy of time and focus, yet…….none of those compare to God’s work to be carried out through the local New Testament Church. The things of this life are temporal; the things of God are eternal. The things of this earth are “vain jangling” compared to the “commandment” of God. Choose carefully!

(1Ti 1:5) “Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: (6 ) From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;” “Swerved”: turned away from the truth; “aside”: on another path; “Jangling”: babble. Beware. Many read books written by men whose writings are not based on Scripture as much as their own experience or thoughts. Beware. I for one no longer use the word “Christian”, for most today calling themselves such do not sit under Bible Preachers whose message is, “Ye must be born again”. To not hear it and obey it keeps one lost and “Christian” in name – not reality.

(1Ti 1:5) “Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:” “Unfeigned”: without hypocrisy; not faked. When the Bible speaks of faith, it is not as many suppose – an acknowledgment of facts being true. Bible faith is acting upon those facts, not a mere acknowledgment. Example: to acknowledge Jesus died for my sins and rose again victorious is not what God expects from you. He expects you to do the right thing: repent, ask for mercy and forgiveness. That….is faith. So, here the Holy Spirit is saying, “Live the faith you profess.”

(1Ti 1:5) “Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:” Take special notice, “a good conscience”. An old adage says, “Let your conscience be your guide.” That works if your mind has been filled with God’s Word. But if of the world, then conscience will lead you astray. Bottom line, with God, you need to do what you know is right to do. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” (Matt 6:33).

DAILY DROP OF WATER (1Ti 1:5) “Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:” “Charity” out of a pure heart. The word “charity” is the word “love” which speaks of sacrifice, specifically God’s love, and therefore Him loving through us. A pure heart in this case would be one that is seeking to please the Lord, demonstrating His love in a sacrificial way (if need be) to others. Friend, loving in God’s Name is not us loving, but allowing Him to love through us. Loving as He would and does love.

(1Ti 1:4) “Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.” What is godly edifying? It should go without saying that it is encouraging in the things of God. Problem: so many “encourage” the lost through the applying of God’s promises to them. Those promises are for the children of God. One only becomes a child of God by first coming in repentance to Him asking forgiveness and the gift of everlasting life through the blood of His son. They need to be Born Again. Edify in truth. Lovingly deal with their sin.
