Thirsting Souls Bible Teaching

(2Co 7:1) “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”    If one chooses to see the word “fear” as a deep reverence, shouldn’t that reverence be demonstrated in searching God’s Word, seeking to adhere to its teaching throughout?
