(Rom 5:7) “For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. (8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Note that each time one was willing to die for another, it was because they had seen “something” worthy in the person worth giving their own life in that person’s place. But not so with God. He did not die for you because He saw some “good” in you. He died for you simply because He loved you despite no goodness being in you. Since this is true, shouldn’t you love Him back to the degree of living your life “for” Him, for “good” doesn’t begin to describe Him!
