(Rom 4:4) “Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.”  No matter how you slice it, an effort to obtain or keep salvation is a “work” – period. (Gal 3:3)“ Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” Yes, we are saved “unto good works” Ephesians 2, but not because of good works. The glory is all of God!
