Thirsting Souls Bible Teaching

(Tit 1:5) “For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:”  An elder is a pastor (bishop v.7). It doesn’t mean he is old. You do not have to ordain an old person as old, they know it already. It speaks of the spiritual maturity of the individual. This interpretation is enforced by the fact he is not to be a novice (1 Tim 3:6).
